Sandon/Great Baddow Proposals for Country Park

ATTENTION RIDERS IN CHELMSFORD

UPDATE: A few people have reported problems trying to use the site. It appears that it won’t allow comments from phones or tablets! Instead try going to chelmsford.gov.uk then 'planning and building control' then 'masterplans for new developments in chelmsford' click on the third one 3a and this will take you to that page. There is an online response form which hopefully will be easier!

You may be aware that there is major development planned in the Sandon/Great Baddow area between the bypass and the Park and Ride.

Part of the agreed development is a large country park - around 60 hectares - and we have also negotiated a new bridleway to link in with the existing lane which goes under the A12 and a Pegasus crossing over the Maldon Road. Despite the new bridleway link, equestrian access to the country park is NOT planned.

There is a public consultation on the Masterplan - go to www.chelmsford.gov.uk and go onto planning applications and search under reference number 21/00003/MAS. PLEASE can all local riders respond to this asking for equestrian access to the new country park - the more people who do this, the better our chances of securing some off-road riding which is non-existent in this area! The closing date is 3rd September.
